Water Is Significant For All Living Things

WATER IS SIGNIFICANT FOR ALL LIVING THINGS

*Water Is Life That Comes From Rain, Sans Rain Our Duties In Vain.*
(Thirukkural 2:10)

*🚱 RO Water & Controversies ⚠*

*✍🏻 What WHO says !?*
After analyzing hundreds of scientific studies concerning De-mineralised or Reverse Osmosis water, the World Health Organization released a report stating that such water *"Has A Definite Adverse Influence On The Animal And Human Organism."*
*✍🏻 What's Water ?*
_On Paper_
   Chemically its H2O.
_In Reality_
Our drinking water is a quite complex liquid.
_Extras In Water_
   + Traces of gases
   + Minerals
   + Organic matter
   + Pathogens
_Truth_
Technically no human drinks water as pure as H2O, and that much pure is not good too.
*✍🏻 Why Purified Water ?*
To ensure that the water we drink is indeed safe for human consumption cos natural water in its crude state has mixed with those things written above.
*✍🏻 What Is RO Water ?*
Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a widely utilized water purification technique.
Pressurized water is forced through a semi-permeable membrane that removes pathogens, impurities.
*What is TDS ?*
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water are some organic and inorganic materials, which include minerals and ions that are dissolved in a particular quantity in water.
*✍🏻 What Is safe TDS Level ?*
Every country has set maximum acceptable limits on the concentration of dissolved Inorganic and Organic components in water.
*_As Per National Green Tribunal in India it must be above 500mg/L_*.
***
_Above 1000mg/L, may be harmful (No conclusive scientific studies.. Can't believe Marketing companies sponsored studies)._
  *~??? Below 500mg/L ???~*
That's what this post is all about.
*✍🏻 What Is De-mineralised Water ?*
Note that our drinking water must contain some important dissolved essential minerals like Sodium, Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium etc to maintain over all health.
Certain Water Purification Techniques, Specially RO, however eliminate these necessary dissolved Minerals, which results in De-mineralised Water.
Technically TDS below 500mg/L RO water is thus pure yet a De-mineralised water.
*✍🏻 Back-ground *
Conventionally, the use of RO water was restricted to laboratories and industries, however, with a rise in water pollution, the implementation of RO water purification has extended even to the the common man who resorts to RO water filters to purify water for his daily use.
*It has his own pro's & con's as per TDS value.*
*✍🏻 Potential Consequences Of Drinking De-mineralised Water ::*
Low mineral content i.e. water with low TDS (Total Dissolved Salts) has a negative effect on our body’s homeostasis.
Further more, mineral imbalance that has shown to have a detrimental effect on *Hormones Secretions, Kidney Functions, and Bone Mineral Density and also causes symptoms such as Headaches, Tiredness, Weakness, Muscular Cramps, Impaired Heart Rate and Mental Alertness*.
*♨  Minerals :: >>> Less Intake, <<< More Excretion :: Osmotic Mechanism*
Because reverse osmosis water doesn't have enough minerals, when it is consumed, it also leaches minerals from the body.
This means that the minerals being consumed in food and vitamins are being urinated away.
Less minerals consumed plus more minerals being excreted equals serious negative side effects and big health problems.
*♨  Loss Of Essential Elements From Food*
When used for cooking, reverse osmosis water was found to cause substantial losses of all essential elements from food (vegetables, meat, cereals).
Such losses may reach up to 60 % for magnesium and calcium or even more for some other micro-elements (e.g., copper 66 %, manganese 70 %, cobalt 86 %).
*♨  Cardiovascular, Neurological, & Developmental Impact*
Although water is not a major source for Calcium and Magnesium, research has shown that consuming water that is low in Calcium and Magnesium is associated with an increased risk of *Cardiovascular Diseases, Fractures in Children, Preterm Birth or Low Birth Weight, certain Neuro-degenerative diseases* etc., when compared to Natural water consumption.
*♨  Effects On Bone Strength, Blood Pressure, and Blood Formation*
Evidence has demonstrated that Mineral Elements from water are readily absorbed in the body as compared to those from food sources.
*Reduced Iron intake from De-mineralised water interferes with Blood formation.*
*Deficiency of Calcium leads to Brittle Bones*
*Magnesium and Potassium deficit contributes to High Blood Pressure.*
*♨  Risk Of Chronic Kidney Diseases & Gastro-intestinal Troubles*
*pH* is the value that measures *Acidity or Alkalinity* of any solution.
_A value between 6 to 8 is considered as normal._
~Any thing below 6 is considered Acidic.~
Water obtained from many RO filtration units has a low pH value. Prolonged consumption of low pH water has adverse health effects such as increasing the risk of *Kidney Disorders and Gastrointestinal Troubles.*
*✍🏻 Conclusion ::*
RO purifiers may reduce TDS levels below the recommended values, resulting in a negative impact on human health.
People should therefore thoroughly understand the functioning of a RO water purifier and the resulting health implications of consuming De-mineralised water before deciding on its installation.
